SAINTS
TRIVIA:
St. Phocas is the Patron Saint of what professions? (See next week’s bulletin for answer.)
Today’s readings speak of hospitality.
Abraham, who cheerfully did for his guests all that desert hospitality
required, was rewarded with his heart’s desire – a son. Martha also busied herself with all the
details of hospitality, but grudgingly and with complaint. Am I a cheerful or a grudging giver?
CHRISTIAN
WILLS SEMINAR
- We are less than two weeks from the Christian Will Seminar taking place on
July 29. As one attendee of the first
seminar noted, “I learned that the will I had was not adequate or Christian in
nature.” Register ASAP to assure your place in this seminar. You may return
your registration cards to the office, place them in a collection basket at
Mass next weekend, call in your registration to the office (Patty Guazzo
237-3428), or register on-line (www.pbocchurch.com).

Back-to-School Backpack and Clothing
Drive:
PBOC is
excited to start our 7th annual back-to-school backpack and clothing drive to
help children from Teach My People and children in need at Waccamaw Area
schools. What started with just 40 children has expanded to over 100, and we
continue to be blessed by the support of the people of the parish. The drive
helps to provide a new backpack, school supplies and a new outfit to make sure
children in our area are prepared and ready to learn at school. We ask that you pick up a blue bag on the way
out of church this weekend and return it by Monday, August 2 with suggested
items. If you have any questions, or would like to add a child to our list,
please contact Karyn Congdon at 325-5789 or Rene Preedom at 235-1180.
