SAINTS TRIVIA: Answer to last week’s question…
Saint Barbara is the Patron Saint of fireworks. Because she converted to Christianity, her father tortured and killed her. He was immediately struck by lightning or “fire from heaven”. Her association with things military and death that falls from the sky led to her patronage of all things related to artillery, and her image graced powder magazines and arsenals for years. Pray for her intercession that no one gets injured using fireworks this weekend!

“The harvest is rich,” Jesus
tells the seventy-two in today’s Gospel, “but the workers are few.” The
situation is the same today. How can I help with God’s harvest? Am I
called into the field? Am I one who could provide food or shelter or
wages to those who toil in the fields of the Lord? (See Luke 10:2)
CHRISTIAN WILLS SEMINAR - Parishioners recently received a letter regarding our 2nd Christian Will Seminar. It follows our very successful initial Christian Will Seminar. As a reminder, food and refreshments will be served for the convenience of participants. You may return your registration cards to the office, place them in a collection basket at Mass next weekend, call in your registration to the office (Patty Guazzo 237-3428) or register on-line by going to our website www.pbocchurch.com.
