StewardshipGraphicLike Nathan in today’s first reading, we sin when we begin to feel entitled and act as if what we have is ours by right, when we forget that everythng we have is an unmerited gift from God.  But God is gracious and forgiving – even when we use His gifts wrongly or squander them thoughtlessly – if, like Nathan, we confess our guilt and ask His pardon.

MEALS ON WHEELS NEEDS VOUNTEERS URGENTLY

The Meals on Wheels program brings meals to the homebound, elderly, sick, and disabled in our community.  Many of our volunteers are unable to continue.  They have served the community and the program excellently.  We now need new replacement volunteers.  Deacon Phil in his “Reflections” article asks the question:  “Have we been of service as shepherds to one another?”  This program allows us to answer this question with an experience of true charity.  We also meet a lot of very wonderful people.  Please volunteer!  Call Pat Burg at 237-3178.

Blessed Lord, who caused all scripture to be written for
our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn,
and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
