Going Green!
All
parish facilities now have recycling containers and accept the following
materials: cardboard, paper, plastic,
glass, magazines, aluminum and tin. Please
look for the blue or green bins, and help us recycle by placing
these materials in the recycling containers.
ALL items can be commingled in one easy container!!
Reminder! “Green Team Meeting
& Recycling Info. Session”. Those who have experience in this area can attend an informational
meeting on Tuesday, June 8 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Life Center. Kira Roff will be heading up our “Green Team”
and organizing efforts to coordinate all different ways for PBOC to “reduce,
reuse & recycle”.

AID TO OUR MILITARY: Your
generosity in donations has enabled us to continue sending care packages to our
men and women of the military. They do appreciate your support. Our Knights of Columbus continues to mail
these packages. As long as we receive your and the Knights of Columbus support,
our military will continue to receive these care packages. Again, thank
you. As always your prayers are
requested for our military and their safe return. – John Glinka
In today’s Gospel, the disciples suggest that Jesus disperse the crowd so
that they might individually seek food and lodging. The miracle of the feeding of the five
thousand is Jesus’ powerful reminder that when we share our gifts in His name there is always more than enough!

OUTREACH
GRACE MINISTRIES is a faith-based, non-profit organization that encourages community
involvement in the lives of our aging population and enables them to continue
living independently and gracefully in the place they most desire. Neighbor to Neighbor is a program of Grace
Ministries that provides basic life support to older adults who want to
remain in their own homes. The Precious
Blood of Christ Outreach ministry has partnered with the Neighbor to Neighbor
program. Typical services include
transportation, medical and quality of life, visitation and reassurance
calls. Perhaps you know someone in need
of their services, or you may consider becoming a volunteer with their program. Consider becoming a “Carolina Neighbor”. It’s a way to change lives…both yours and
your neighbors! Call Joy Hanner at
234-0818 for further information.

Religious ed review
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL was held at
PBOC June 1-3. Our theme this
year was
“Let the Son Shine In”! Over 60 children attended each night and learned
Old Testament Bible lessons and songs. A
highlight was the skits the children performed about the lessons they
learned. Awesome Inflatable Rides
provided a “wild, water night” on Wednesday.
The arrival of the “Brigit’s Irish Ice” truck in front of the PLC on
Tuesday was once again a favorite of all of the participants. All of the children were treated to delicious
“Irish” ice. Fr. Pat celebrated Mass in
the PLC on Thursday for the youth and their families, followed by a
cookout. All of the children took home
t-shirts, bookmarks and religious necklaces to remember the week.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers who made
this week possible: Ryan Millane, Joy
Millane, Sam Insignares, Madeline King, Sarah Ellerbe, Jamie Barnett, Caroline
Barnett, Lauren Tilmont, Annie Arneman, Tommy Arneman, Cam Sweeney, Shannon
Gallagher, Lucy Parr, Rob Ferraro, Nikki Legg, Eric Robles, Erica Robles,
Ashley Kerr, Michael Mayeaux, Maggie Mayeaux, Emili Walker, Amanda Walker, Mary
Clark, Jody Paglio, Martha Insignares, Dana Arneman, and Ellen Sullivan.
A very special thank you to Fr. Pat for his enthusiastic and generous support of VBS and all of the youth activities at PBOC!
