MCHH01873_0000[1]CALLING ALL QUILTERS!

Quilts of Valor

Our group has been busy making quilts for our wounded heroes who are hospitalized in Veteran hospitals from wounds received in Afghanistan and Iraq.  At this point we have sent over 250 quilts to Walter Reed in DC, Womack Med Center at Ft. Bragg, and many other hospitals.

We have a supply of donated fabric available to any quilter who will put together a 50"X60" top.  If you would be interested in helping with this ministry of love & gratitude to our servicemen and women, please join us in Founders Hall on Tuesday, February 16th at 10:00 AM.  Linda Quinn and I will be there to help you choose fabric and an easy pattern to take home and work on at your convenience.

A letter of encouragement is included with each quilt and it is our hope that these quilts show our brave men and women our appreciation for their service and that they remain in our hearts and prayers.

If you are interested in helping with this ministry or have any questions please call:  Helen Faulstich at 843-235-2713, or Linda Quinn at 843-650-7355.

StewardshipGraphicIn today’s readings, both Isaiah and Peter hear the call of God and feel themselves unworthy.  But, reassured by the Lord, both answer and follow.  Do I hear the Lord asking, “Whom shall I send?”  Am I prepared to answer, “Here I am.  Send me!”?

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY GEORGETOWN COUNTY

We are getting ready for our 2010 APOSTLES’ BUILD on Church St. in Georgetown.  We are just $10,000 short of our goal of $60,000 to build a home for the Lewis Family.  If you know of someone who would like to donate construction gifts in kind for this build, it would lower the construction costs.  Habitat ReStore revenue from donations of furniture, appliances, housewares or building materials can also be designated to the Apostles’ Build.  Volunteers in all areas are also needed.  To donate a financial contribution or gifts-in-kind, call Lisa at 546-5685 X6, or for ReStore donations call Sarah at 546-5685 x1.  Thank You!
