Special
Note of Thanks:
On
behalf of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart I would like to thank the people
(of Precious Blood of Christ) for their wonderful generosity towards the
medical and retirement fund of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.
These
days we have many elderly priests over 80.
We try to remain active as long as we can but the age is still
there. The age is high but the income
does not keep pace with it. We certainly
remember all those people in our prayers.
Their generosity is really appreciated.
Again,
my gratitude to the pastor and all his parishioners. My gratitude also to those people who helped
me so much while I was in the hospital.
Yours
in C.J., - Rev. James Dudley, MSC

The U. S. bishops’ pastoral
on stewardship reinforces today’s reading from 1 Corinthians: “Because its
individual members do collectively make up the Body of Christ, that body’s
health and well-being are the responsibility of the members – the personal
responsibility of each one of us. We are
all stewards of the Church.”

STEWARDSHIP – A CHRISTIAN WILL FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE A WILL
Some parishioners have asked,
“Should we attend one of the Christian Will Workshops if we already have a
will?” We believe it would be a very worthwhile hour. One of the key benefits
of participating is learning how to write a preamble for your Will that will
enable you to share how your faith has sustained you throughout your life –
bearing final witness to your faith and bringing comfort to your loved ones. Remember the first workshop will be held on
March 16 at 6:30 PM. You may call the office to register.
SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR HAITI
Thank you to all who donated last
weekend to the special collection for Haiti’s disaster relief. For those who still wish to donate, special

office. All monies collected will be directed
to Haiti’s disaster relief through Catholic Charities.
We welcome the new parishioners

MINISTRY
OF CARE
Let
us know of your loved one confined to home, in the hospital or recovering from
surgery and now home. (Hospitals will
not give out patient information, so we have no way of knowing your
needs.) Our ministry is to unite the
sick and recovering followers of Christ with the Body of Christ,
they are not ALONE. Please call the
parish office at 237-3428, Christine at 237-2096, or Anne at 237-0401.
Respect life

Today we remember the Roe vs.
Wade decision of 1973. This Supreme Court decision led to the legalization of
abortion at any time throughout the United States. The personal loss and untold grief that
followed are unimaginable. The Church is very clear on the subject of human
life: "Human life is
sacred because from the beginning it involves the creative action
of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with its Creator, who
is its sole end. (Catechism of the
Catholic Church 2258).
So, where do we go from here? We need to pay attention to what is going on
in the public square. We need to help
those who are providing "loving support for women facing
unplanned pregnancy" such as the volunteers at Birthright. We need to give witness to the sanctity of
human life as was done by the senior youth, Knights of Columbus, and other
parishioners of Precious Blood last weekend in Columbia. Finally, we need to pray every day. Also
consider joining our Rosary group after the 10:30 AM Mass on the first
Sunday of the month.
