NEW! CHRISTMAS GIFT
CARDS
Need a Christmas gift for the person
who has everything? Or want to give a gift that keeps on giving? Our new gift
cards are the answer!
This year send gift cards to your
friends notifying them that you are giving a Christmas dinner in their honor
through our Outreach Ministries or Father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen. Each gift card
costs $10, and the money raised will supplement the holiday baskets we deliver
to needy families in our community or for the special meals we’ll be serving in
the Lunch Kitchen.
Gift cards are also available for contributions
to the Columbarium Fund, Outreach Ministries or the Building Fund
in honor of friends on your Christmas
list.
The gift cards, which come with envelopes suitable
for mailing, are printed in Christmas colors and can be purchased from the
church office.
Spread the spirit of Christmas with
gift cards from PBOC.

A Note of Thanks:
To the
parishioners of Precious Blood of Christ,
I am very pleased that many of you took
the time to come to meet us after Mass on 9/27/09; even more appreciative that
some of you purchased the olive wood religious articles that were
available. On behalf of the Christians
of the Holy Land, I thank you. Please
remember, money is not the solution; it’s only a very small part of it. I am a firm believer in the power of a
prayer. Now that you know we exist, and
you realize our natural role in the family of Christ, please do pray, and ask
others to pray as well. I pray our Price
of Peace remembers you and your family to remain healthy and peaceful. Amen.
Peace,
Rami Qumsieh - www.HolyLandDirect.com.
Today’s second reading reminds us that the sacrifice of Christ frees us
from sin and makes us a royal nation of priests in the service of God. How
am I using my gifts to serve God and others?
2010 PLANNED GIVING ANNUAL PLEDGE
We are pleased to say that the number of
parish families that have responded with their Planned Giving Intention for
2010 has increased from 45% last year to 51% this year. We’re also gratified
that the number of Planned Givers using one of our electronic giving options
has increased from 18% to 23%. We encourage everyone who has not yet responded
- particularly those who regularly use automatic withdrawals from your bank
account or a credit card - to allow your weekly or monthly contributions to be
transferred electronically from your checking or savings account or your credit
card directly to the church account. While away or on vacation, you will have
peace of mind - knowing your offering has been received and is contributing to
the good works of Precious Blood.

ANGEL TREE – The Angel Tree, part of our
Outreach Program, will be set up the weekend after Thanksgiving (November
28-29) in the gathering space of the church.
We ask that you do not take an angel unless you plan to return it with
an appropriate gift. We must purchase a
gift for any child whose angel is not returned. The angels indicate clothing
sizes or toy gift. The ages of the
children range from infant through 18 years.
Gift suggestions for older children could be handbags, wallets, jewelry,
sports watches, perfume or cologne or books. All gifts should be wrapped, and the angel
attached, with the code number clearly visible.
The gifts must be returned to the Parish Life Center by December 12th
to allow for sorting and timely delivery on December 19th. With your help we will make this a happy
holiday season for the kids!

CAROLINA
MASTER CHORALE
presents the world premiere of Andrew Fowler's AN OUTBREAK OF PEACE: A
CHRISTMAS ORATORIO. Dec. 12th at 8:00 PM at Trinity
Episcopal Church, 3000 N. Kings Hwy. Myrtle Beach; AND Dec. 13th
at 4:00 PM at Calabash Presbyterian Church, 8820 Old Georgetown Road (Hwy.

McGough (member of CMC and cantor at PBOC) at 357-8380 for advance
tickets.
The oratorio is a compelling and dramatic
musical telling of the famous Christmas Eve truce of 1914 when a single German
soldier began singing Silent Night in his native tongue and climbed from the
trenches to approach the Allied forces with a white truce sign and a Christmas
tree shining with candles. Soon soldiers from both sides joined together,
exchanging chocolate, showing each other photographs from home, and keeping
Christmas....until dawn, when all returned to their separate trenches and the
horrors of history's bloodiest war.
