“Every worthwhile gift, every
genuine benefit, comes from above,” says St. James in the second reading. But, he reminds us, true worship of God
involves using those good gifts to
benefit the less fortunate. Good
stewardship is not optional; it is the hallmark of our faith! (See James 1:17)

LOCAL NEWS
Information on the H1N1 Flu Virus from the CDC
Every flu season has
the potential to cause a lot of illness.
CDC is concerned that the new H1N1 flu virus could result in a
particularly severe flu season this year.
Vaccines are the best tool we have to prevent influenza. The seasonal flu vaccine is unlikely to
provide protection against the novel H1N1 flu virus, however, a vaccine is
currently in production. This H1N1
vaccine does not replace the seasonal flu vaccine. Symptoms for both of these influenzas
include: fever, cough, sore throat,
runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
We all can help by
using a few preventative measures:
·
Cover
your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
·
Wash
your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
·
Avoid
touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
·
Try
to avoid close contact with sick people.
For more information,
please go to: www.cdc.gov.
The Diocese of
Charleston has been and will continue to keep parishes abreast of any
modifications or changes in our liturgies.
