KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
![]()
Council 11028 congratulates our Knight of the Month, Leonard Washington, and our Family of
the Month, Jim & Pat Richardson. Thank you for all you do for our Council, our
parish and the community.
The third of the four
winners of this year’s Knights of Columbus Catholic Youth Action Award is Lilianne
Kaminski.
Lilianne sings with the youth choir, teaches
1st grade CCD and represented our parish at World Youth Day in
Australia. She assists at the long list
of Parish functions.
Her letter of
nomination states…”Lili…has an optimism and joy that seeps into each activity
she takes up. Her genuine care and love
of each person she comes in contact with pushes her to learn, to grow in faith,
and assist with all she is able… She
desires to care for others above herself.
Her gentleness and minimalism are refreshing; she sees life in its
beauty, free from the harsh reality of its jadedness… Lili smiled for hours on end while in Sydney
for no other reason than for the sake of smiling, the shining sun and the
company kept… Lili has learned her faith
through the example of others; she surrounds herself with people of character
and good fellowship is important to her.
It is significant to
note that Lili has started a non-profit organization focused on fundraising
called “Il Dolce Dono” – “The Sweetest Gift.”
After the death of a schoolmate, she was encouraged to raise money for
cancer research. Through Il Dolce Dono
she has recruited many people to participate in the Breast Cancer Charity Walk,
raised over $100 for March of Dimes, raised $150 for the American Cancer Society,
and over $1,000 for a local charity – the Ashley G Foundation.
