Pope Benedict XVI has designated June 19, 2009 through June 19, 2010 as the Year for Priests. This celebration began on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and will have an official commemoration on the 150th anniversary of St. John Vianney’s death. On that day, the Curé of Ars will be declared the Universal Patron of all Priests by the Holy Father.
We encourage you to pray for all priests, living and deceased, and especially Fr. Pat, our new Bishop Robert Guglielmone, and the priests from the Diocese of Charleston. Also pray that many more men might respond to God’s call for priestly vocations.

Knights
of Columbus
THE KNIGHTS SUNDAY NEWS
READ ALL ABOUT IT !!!!!
The last two weeks I spoke about the Knights’ emblem and what the four corners of our emblem represent. The first two are Charity and Unity, and the third corner represents Fraternity.
Fraternity makes a Knight aware that we are all made in the likeness of God. It brings home the requirement of love of neighbor no matter race, national origin or physical ability. It demands our defense of the weak and abused. It binds the brotherhood of Knights against injustice... It solidifies the bond between Knights and Bishops and Priests of the church.
Completion of the Fraternity degree (3rd Degree) brings the Knight to full Knighthood.
(To be continued.)
ATTENTION OFFICERS! The Officers Meeting has been changed to Thursday, June 23 at 7:00 PM in Founders Hall.
